NavVis is pushing wearable dynamic scanning into higher-detail Scan-to-BIM and MEP work with VLX 4, but its 3 mm resolution and productivity claims still need representative field validation

NavVis launched VLX 4, a wearable mobile-mapping system using a three-LiDAR configuration and claiming native 3 mm point-cloud resolution for dynamic scanning. The company positions it for detail-rich Scan-to-BIM, MEP and industrial work and says captures flow through the NavVis ecosystem and IVION with point-cloud export to established BIM, CAD and third-party tools. PROVE TDI treats the resolution, detail and efficiency statements as attributable vendor claims, not independent proof that VLX 4 can replace supplemental high-detail capture methods across every project.
