Brivo is extending cloud access control deeper into interior doors where hardwired economics often break down
Brivo announced availability of the Schlage XE360 Series with RealSync lock within Brivo Security Suite. The integration uses continuous Wi-Fi connectivity for supported secondary and interior doors, reducing reliance on traditional panels, gateways and new cabling. Brivo says this can lower cost per door by up to 70%; that figure remains a vendor claim rather than a proven buyer outcome.
Decision impact
For organisations modernising existing estates, this can materially change retrofit economics and the number of doors for which electronic access control is viable. It also moves Wi-Fi coverage, battery and maintenance design, offline behaviour and cross-vendor lifecycle dependencies higher in the selection model rather than treating the lock as a simple peripheral.
What is not proven
The announcement does not prove 70% savings across buyer estates, universal suitability for existing wireless environments, battery performance under real traffic patterns, equivalent resilience to hardwired architectures, or consistent integration quality across every supported Schlage and Brivo configuration.
