Autodesk appoints Diana Colella to lead AEC as its Forma and AI strategy enters a new executive phase
Autodesk announced that Diana Colella will become executive vice president of its Architecture, Engineering and Construction business, succeeding Amy Bunszel, who is retiring after a transition through 2 November 2026. The company says Colella will advance Autodesk Forma and AI strategy while continuing to evolve Revit and Civil 3D. PROVE TDI treats the appointment, transition and strategic direction as attributable first-party statements rather than independently verified execution outcomes.

Autodesk is extending Fusion toward AI-assisted model reconstruction, assembly, configuration, CAM and design reuse, but explicitly labels the capabilities as forward-looking development
Autodesk described a set of AI capabilities in development for Fusion, including AutoTimeline for reconstructing editable parametric history from imported geometry, AutoAssemble for assembly relationships, conversational product configuration, AI-generated CAM programming, similarity-based part discovery and Autodesk Assistant support for design reuse. Autodesk also points to continued Fusion Automation API investment and earlier Claude and MCP work. The source explicitly states that these capabilities are forward-looking, in development and subject to change, so PROVE TDI treats the announcement as roadmap evidence rather than delivered product capability.

Autodesk is extending Forma deeper across AEC and making the long-term Revit-to-Forma direction explicit, while several announced capabilities remain beta or planned
Autodesk set out a broader Forma roadmap spanning planning, design, infrastructure and construction. Civil 3D is intended to become a Forma Connected Client; Forma Street Design is planned for beta; Forma Bid is already in beta for eligible customers; and Autodesk described new or planned AI-assisted workflows across Revit, Forma Data Management and Forma Build. Autodesk also states that, over time, more work currently done in Revit will move directly into Forma while Revit continues to be developed. PROVE TDI treats this as a material platform-direction signal with mixed availability states, not as evidence that the full end-to-end workflow exists today.
